Dh in his wisdom has just bought a "practical" Citroen Berlingo at auction.

Being a 5' midget I can't reach the clutch very well. Is there something I can attach to the pedals (or my feet!?) in order to drive the bugger?

bobsmum i'm short too. when i first learnt to drive, it was in my mum's vintage Beetle and for some reason i just couldn't reach the pedals. anyhow, i just had to use thick cushions behind my back. that's the safest i reckon.

You can have blocks made to go on the pedals. the man at BMW told us this when we went to test drive one and I found that I couldn't wuite reach the pedals (5 foot too). I didn't want to risk cushiosn, etc pushing me closer to the steering wheel and the airbag. We didn't bother with the car in the end!

Hulababy, I thought you were going to say "buy a new car"

bobsmum · 02/08/2006 21:43

Hmm - didn't have the luxury of a test drive - this was a "must have" so I'm told...mutter mutter....

hmmm, hadn't considered that aspect hulababy! I was inches away from the steering wheel when i was driving the beetle! It was aeons ago though. Perhaps then, as suggested, you should have blocks put on the pedals.

LOL! Well, that is what I am good at!!! I daren't even add up how many new cars I have had since joining MN!!!

How do I buy these granny blocks without being mortally humiliated at some souped up car shop that only sells those blue lights for under the chassis?
