Out of Date Fairy Cakes

On Monday (31st July)I bought 2 packs of 12 fairy cakes from Somerfield to use at DD's borthday party yesterday.

MIL also baked some fairy cakes, so decided not to open the shop bought ones.

I thought we would open them today. When I looked at the dates on them the plain ones are ok as the date is 2ns September, but the chocolate ones are best before 25th July.

I am going to take them back to the shop tomorrow as I don't think they should have be on display as the BB date on them had already passed.

What do you wise mumsnetters think?
