Labelling school uniform. Which labels shall I buy?

Title says it all. New to this - any suggestions of where I should get labels for uniform from?

Iron on or sew on?

Iron ons don't seem to last the weekly tumble drying and ironing. For most I've reverted to Cash's sew-in labels and a laundry marker (most have a space on the label for the name) or iron-ons for shirts (can replace easily as required).

get a good laudry pen as Lizs suggests - in the end, it's the most useful thing!

I got iron on ones from somewhere (think there's a link on mumsnet or it might have been Cashs). They last long enough and if they fall out, you can always write the name in.

or even laundry

I really like those special iron ons for socks, they are letters iron on, so don't bunch up when the sock stretches....anyone know what they re called??

easy2name are the whizzy ones. There was a link here just this week but it's gone and the bit on the MN discounts page (here )doesn't have working links any more

tassis · 02/08/2006 20:25

thanks everyone!

so the easy2name ones stay on?

They stay on pretty well, although I've found that the writing fades a bit (maybe investigate the woven iron on ones?). But definitely make sure you do the shoes too, and use the easy2name shoe labels - there's a limited number of shoe styles, so there's bound to be at least one other child with the same ones.
