Are steam cleaners any good?

I've been thinking about buying a steamcleaner but...

do they work and are they easy to use? What brabd would you recommend?

someone here (doormat, i think) has a morphy richards grimebuster and swears by it.

My FIL has one and brings it our house every spring to clean our patio and path. It's always worked a treat!
(Don't know if that's the sort of steam cleaner you mean )

I have an Electrolux Environ Steamer (small hand held one) and is absolutely excellent.
