Baby is due Jan so dd will be around 20 months. Would you buy a twin pram or just use a single pram and get a buggy board type thing..?? I was wondering as what age are they when they want to walk everywhere..?

Thought I may be best with a double pram as then if dd does want to walk she can or she can sit in pram..?

I would get the double (esp if you walk quite a lot!)

Thats fine, just trying to convince dh we need a new pram ..How addictive are prams..???!!

I have my heart set on the 1st wheels city twin.. Also like the phil and ted one and not sure if that will be easier in town etc..?

Anyone know if the 1st wheels one is fairly light (well as light as a twin buggy can be.?)

Think you'll need one. If you can carry the baby around until around 6 months and use the single for dd you may cope without. Even if your dd can toddle a reasonable distance by then it probably won't be in the direction or at the speed you may require. Most seem to be able to walk more often than ride from about 2 1/2 (there are some exceptions of course), but don't think you can really on a buggyboard alone before 2.

thing is dd was 9lb 4 oz at birth and there was no way I could carry her around for any length of time, also I never felt safe carrying her if I was out iykwim.

I know I could use a sling but I'm gussing baby2 will be bigger then 9lb 4 so guess I may struggle again. I'm only 4ft 11in so may struggle.

Thanks for advice on buggyboard..It's hard to know when dd will be "ready" for items such as these, you see them BUT have no idea when to introduce them.!

You will need a double, but not for very long, so i would buy a cheapy or 2nd hand.

We used the litaf seat 2 go which is like a buggy board but with a seat as well as a step from about 28 mths.

Shhh I would go for a double as I did for ds when dd was born he was 2.2yrs. He only used it for sa month but even so. Also about the weight you may be shocked..ds was 9lb1oz so was told dd would be 10lb plus [even when I was in labour as she wouldnt engage] she turned out to be a diddy 6lb14ozs.

thats interesting about the weight nemo..I have seen 3 mw so far and they have all said baby2 will be bigger..! Maybe they prepare you for the worse case senario iykwim..!

a double if it rains at least toddler wont get wet with a rain cover, and some are easily handled if toddler out and walkin with baby in I got a tandam (front/back with DS2+3 23mth/5mth) brilliant

Nemo1977 · 01/08/2006 11:30

shhh they may do..as I said every one was telling me dd was a lot bigger so of course I was panicking so when this little thing came out I was in shock and actualy said she couldnt be mine..pmsl I was taken to theatre for a cs as they kept saying she was too big to come out and was stuck in the birthcanal..truth was she was a little tinker who was so small she kept popping in and out of being engaged..lol

Nemo1977 · 01/08/2006 11:31

meant to add..about the raining etc thats one reason I got double aswell as dd was a dec baby so rain ahoy...lucky that its not going to waste as dd will be 13mths when db arrives in jan.

shhhh · 01/08/2006 16:23

yeah the next baby will be a winter baby (jan) so I expect bad weather as usual in the uk..!!! Another point is that dh & I would like more so maybe although dd will outgrow it one way or another it can be used by baby2 and 3... .!!!

LOl at your dd nemo..! Little rascal wanted to fool everyone..!! BTW what date are you due..? I'm 31/01
