Ceiling fans - any good?

Anyone got a ceiling fan installed in their bedroom - are they any good - also my husband not a diy-er anyone know what the going rate would be for a sparky to fit one.

we've had one for years and use it a lot on hot nights - has had loads of use lately

my dh fitted it so no idea on costs

With me, just choose a small ceiling fans. So, it won't move a lot of air when sleep. But you still have a good sleeping.
