Hi

Puzzling over these..can you help me to choose for my DS for his 6th b'day?
What the best between the V tech and Leapster or do I just go all out for the game boy??? Want to get something that is not too young for him..
many thanks!

leapster l max is supposedly very good

but tbh I would go for the game boy (others are too babyish too quickly)

Leapster max. Ds is a very clever 5.5 and loves his. Although he is limited to 3/4 of an hour a day he would play it all day if allowed, i think.

Half price at early learning at the mo.

Cod had a thread about these today in travel.

i would go for the gameboy
I have always liked video games so dd1 who is 6 has always had them in the house
she uses my gamenoy advance and loves it, she plays simpson road rage and has played pokemon on a friends one

I would definitely think that the v tech or leapster would be either too young for him already or very soon, I'd go with the gameboy

the nintedno ds lite is great (expensive though)

good games too

Neena28 · 29/07/2006 19:13

Games on leapster go up to 10 ish depending on what you buy. I refuse to have anything remotely violent in the house yet so was put off as even the so-called kids games we had seen for gameboy etc seemed quite violent. Ds is quite happy with it and will definitely have a good few years ot of it yet. At £40 (in sale) I think is a better buy than more pricey incase it gets broken too. Games can be bought quite cheaply too.

So the v tech smile thing out of the window.........thinking the leapster perhaps as a gap between now and the game boy. DS 2 and DS3 will benefit in years to come when perhaps DS is on gameboy..thanks for all your quick posts!

do all the nintendo games work on each platform? have been looking at them in shops (more in awe than anything else because I'm aware that ds will start yearning for one soon) - is the nintendo ds different to a game boy then?

other popular stuff amongst dd's boy friends is sports stuff - so football goalkeeper gloves, cricket bats etc.

Are these Beyblades any good?... or will just add to the plastic mountain?
