Can you get sunscreen (for grown ups) that doesn't leave you looking like you've been basted in chip fat?

I am sick to the back teeth of feeling greasy...it's horrid. Is there one that absorbs properly without leaving a residue or is it the residue that is the integral protective part of the sunscreen?

There was a BBC news item about this last week. Apparently it's only the ones that leave you looking like you've been dipped in white paint that actually provide adequate protection. The ones that rub in properly so you can't see them are worse than useless, because they protect against the UVB rays that cause reddening/pain, but not the UVA rays that cause long-term damage.

Dunno whether it's bollocks or not.

I like Piz Buin - it's a grown up suncream! On a smaller budget Johnsons is good and non greasy. I use the factor 30 one.

See mine rubs in OK, but it leaves a greasy film on my skin. I haven't burned though, so it's working - just fed up of being oily

So which Piz Buin - a cream or a spray or what?

Ah, you've got me, haven't bought it for a while because I haven't been abroad for yonks and it's not been hot here like this for years. I used a cream though last time we were in Greece and never burned at all and it wasn't greasy. Been up to my eyeballs in factor 50 sunblock for the kids since they arrived!

KBear - I got PizBuin (the spray cream) on your recommendation (and the packaging said oil free, no residue, absorbs fully)...and it's brill! Could see a little sheen on my skin for a while, but nothing like the oil slick of the others I've used - and it smells nice too.

Also BOGOF in Boots atm so even better.
