CD/Hifi Thingamabob

My lovely, very old record player, 2 cassette, 3 CD with radio Hifi is dying - the record player gave up the ghost 8 years ago, cassettes get chewed up, CDs skip or just don't play. So it's basically just a giant radio at the moment.

I have £150 to spend. I want a CD player, DAB radio because no point in getting something new when they are going to phase out FM in a couple of years and I don't have an IPhone/Ipad/IPod so one of those docking stations isn't necessary.

There is too much choice out there and I'm confused. Technical language just goes over my head.

So, recommendations please would be most appreciated - thank you Xmas Smile

The government seem to have ditched the idea of dropping FM, so you don't have to have DAB. Saying that, as someone who isn't a hifi buff, if you have a halfway decent signal, the lack of interference is great. OTOH, where we are the signal is poor and we sometimes get a "bubbly" sound as it struggles to hold on to it's signal.

Do you want an all in one unit? At that price level I'm thinking that's probably what you'll get. Is just CD and Radio sufficient? Do you still want to play cassettes or records?
