Hi there,

Can anybody recommend a non greasy sunscreen for an 18 month old with very fair sensitve skin.

Currently using mothercare own brand which does the job but I find it very greasy also used Tesco own brand baby sunblock whilst this does the job also it is like spreading lard on my poor daughters arms legs and face.

Many thanks.

I use the Boots Soltan spray one (factor 30) on DS1. It's lovely.

I use avon for kids, it's spf50 and only around £4.
They do coloured ones too. I don't find it greasy. I have used it on myself and I have eczema.

Bought a soltan one from boots yesterday that is hypoallergenic factor 50 and in a white bottle instead of a yellow one, rubs in lovely but don't buy the baby one thats like rubbing in grease (also in white bottle)and as of yet no allergic reaction like she does with the yellow soltan products

We use Banana Boat - really good for my ds with excema.

Gillian76 · 25/07/2006 15:01

We are using the Boots Kids 50+ in the little pouches. They were on BOGOF last week. Not greasy and DD2 has sensitive skin that seems fine.

Nivea spray on is not greasy at all
it is great

cremolafoam · 25/07/2006 15:04

E45 or Uvistat do a 50spf it is a bit chalky but neither are sticky. dd now brings ambresolaire clear spray with her - it is really good 30spf and no marks or grease

Gillian76 · 25/07/2006 15:06

CD I found that the Nivea spray stained clothes last year. Do you find that?

CountessDracula · 25/07/2006 15:15

non, pas du tout

CarolinaMoose · 25/07/2006 15:17

I found the green Nivea spray stains like a b*stard.

Soltan stains a bit but is otherwise fab, so I put up with the yellowy marks.

CountessDracula · 25/07/2006 15:17

ah you can buy in not green now

PinkTulips · 25/07/2006 15:20

Nivea for Kids spray isn't greasy at all and dd (18 months) loved being sprayed with it! comes running to have it done when i call. she has sensitive skin and is prone to exzema andit hasn't caused any probs.

geekgrrl · 25/07/2006 15:22

Banana Boat and Proderm are the only ones my dd with eczema can tolerate (and I've tried just about everything on the market I think).
Proderm is completely non-greasy, it's a mousse.
Banana Boat baby sunblock is a lotion, but is absorbed quickly and seems pretty light.

we use Sunsense roll on toddler milk factor 50. Can order it by phone from Crawford pharmeceuticals. ((0) 1477 537 596) It is made by an Australian company and is brilliant. Feels thin but soaks into skin and works really well. They are very quick to send it off and mine arrived next day. My daughter has excema and it has never bothered her.

TwoToTango · 25/07/2006 16:02

I use E45 on my ds. It comes out of the bottle really thick but goes on really nicely and is not greasy at all. You can get it on prescription

CountessDracula · 25/07/2006 16:11

Proderm is called Bergaderm now btw
