Thought we'd just go to John lewis but anyway which mattress would you recommend?

Tempur is pricey but fab. If you or your other half have any back problems you can claim back the VAT which helps.

Budget is about £700. Both our backs are knackered, esp mine.

I think this is the company we bought from. They didn't ask DH for any evidence of a back problem, just took the VAT off the price, although at the time of purchase we were both visiting the Chiropractor and DH had been to the GP about his back and knee.

lie down and try 'em all

we have
pocket sprung
firm and zoned
non-roll
non-turn
and a hollow-filled mattress topper thing that goes in the washing machine, is utter bliss to sleep on and handy for those in-bed vomit moments.

another vote for tempur here, but they're not suited to everyone and some people find them too warm.
Good thing is you can send them back if you don't like it,that's why we chose it,can't do that with any other mattresses afaik.
