I keep reading about it but can never see it when I go shopping.

I've tried danelion coffee and that was foul ! Holland & Barrets or any health shop will definatly sell it

expatinscotland · 21/07/2006 21:11

barf. i have work colleagues who drink those weeds, along w/other waste products like nettle and roobush.

octavia · 21/07/2006 22:12

the worst has to be green tea

expatinscotland · 21/07/2006 22:13

too right, octavia. like chewing on a weed.

and one that's been pissed on by a rat, too.

Dr Stuarts found in Holland * Barratt or Tesco do dandelion.

I drink green tea which is like drain water but needs must etc

MummyPig · 21/07/2006 22:38

If you can't find any in your local healthfood shop, try Goodness Direct: here's what came up when I searched for dandelion tea.

I've never tried dandelion tea but my parents used to have dandelion coffee and Barley Cup as coffee substitutes. I didn't drink either very much, but preferred the Barley Cup if pushed.

I like green tea ! And redbush, nettle, cammomile and all the other stuff people say tastes strange. But then I don't drink caffeinated drinks at all, and I try to buy premium tea from places like here and here . Sitting down with a good cup of tea made from leaves is something that only happens about once or twice a week, but for me it's a real treat.

I tried green tea because it helps with weight loss, to bloomin right it does! it made me feel bloated, sick, headachy and was enough to put you off food for life.... errr what am I complaining about then !

expatinscotland · 21/07/2006 23:06

my mum told me green tea has antioxidants for longer life.

i told her i'd rather die happy.

mummyp, you must know my work colleagues! our cupboard is full of Clipper brand nettle, dandelion, chamomile, 11 o'clock roobush and a bunch of stuff that not even the students would nick.

Coolmama · 21/07/2006 23:17

why the feck would you want to drink something made out of a weed?

Sparkler1 · 22/07/2006 11:34

I just want to try it. I'll try anything once. I usually hate these herbal teas so I've no idea why I should want to try another. Just curious I guess.

See if they'll let you sample it, Sparkler. It'd be a shame to waste all that delicious weed tea!

TooTicky · 22/07/2006 17:59

You can just make your own - as long as the leaves haven't been sprayed with chemicals/weeed on.
I love herbal/fruity sorts of teas. White tea with fruit is nice too. Green tea has to be very weak to stop it tasting bitter. "Normal" tea gives me hideous headaches and makes me shake.

MrsJohnCusack · 22/07/2006 18:06

HOlland and Barrettt
it's minging though

octavia · 22/07/2006 18:54

Dh says if you go in to a whittard store they will make you a cup to try, apparently he goes in quite regulary to sample new coffees !
