Kindle Fire won't charge

dd's Kindle won't charge up . Ran out yesterday , left on charge over night but still on 0% and no icon for the charger being connected. Charger working on my Kindle. Any ideas please ?

googled a bit then rebooted it holding the power button down for 20secs to shut down and again to restart . Suddenly the charging icon appears and it is at 100% Hmm

Mine does that.. pretend it isn't charging but actually is.

My mistake was using it while it was on charge.. made the connection wobbly.
