Best coffee maker like espresso type machine not stove top

Just thinking about getting a machine like George clooney advertises, but not necessarily that one. Anybody got one they love? Or hate? We have one really old one that doesn't use pods and it's not very good, never really gets coffee hot enough. I always use my good old stove top espresso maker! But it'd be a good Xmas present for DH

Dh loves the Dolce Gusto we got him for his birthday. It does use pods but they are available in most places.

I don't mind pods, they seem ok to me just never used them. Is the coffee hot? Think that's my main requirement!

I don't drink it but dh says it is hot enough for him.

id recommend Tassimo. I had a dolce gusto machine for a few years and changed to a Tassimo recently. Its absolutely streets ahead. They have a far better range of discs and they make the perfect amount every time.
