I've just bought this for my daughter for Christmas. There is one particular app she wants more than anything and on research I found that it could be used on the I pod touch 4th generation which is really why I got it. We are going away for Christmas do I'm downloading her some apps now ready to go for when she opens it on Christmas day. The app she really wants is I movie. I've paid for it on my I account but it won't download on the I pod as it says it needs to run on IOS7 or something?? Everything I've read on the internet says that the I pod 4th gen is compatible with it so I really don't understand. What can I do to install it or if it really is impossible to install can I get a refund on it? I have never owned an I device before so am a complete novice (idiot!. Please help, want to get it ready so I can wrap it up. Thanks.

You need to go in to settings and make sure you've downloaded the latest version of the OS. It'll be IOS 7.something (I've lost track!). Hth.

Yes go into settings then general then software update and it will tell you if it's up to date.

Sometimes when downloading larger apps (which I guess I movies would probably be) you need to plug the device in to the laptop and have it connected directly to the iTunes in order for the download to be successful. Good luck. If not, book a (free) appointment at the Genius Bar in your local Apple store. They really are geniuses and will fix it for you.

Maybe not then. I have had a look on the apple website but they are not on there. Can you ring them and find out for sure.

Can you take it back if you need to?

I know you can get iMovie on an ipad 2 as I have it.

It says on Wikipedia that is only supports up to 6.1.5 which is what yours is saying.
