Present for Teacher

My dd is finishing nursery next Fri and will move to reception class. Her nursery teacher has been excellent and we would really like to give her a thank you present, but I am sure she is going to be over-run with bottles of wine and chocolates, but I can't think of something a bit different.

Does anyone have any ideas what we can get her?

As you say, the teachers are probably going to be inundated with little pressies. A friend who is a reception teacher stated she had so many bottles of bubble bath etc, she ended up giving them away - so what is the point.

When my kids have moved on from a particularly good teacher, I always gave them a card, thanking them for their patience, teaching, influence etc and how my child will probably remember them as a very important person in their lives.

I meant what I said and the teachers all thanked me for the words and said they meant a lot to them.

Bit more genuine than a pressie just for the sake of it I reckon.

I am going to make a fresh cream and raspberry choux ring for ds's teacher.

Do you think she'll give it away?
