er, financial. I don't mean I want someone to sell me theirs, just recommend one, in case that wasn't clear.

DH and I each have one of these for personal stuff that doesn't get added to very often but is referred to a lot - birth certs, driving license / car tax, marriage cert, work contracts, vaccination records etc
We also have these for household things that get added to a lot but you never need again - bank statements, bills etc. One is Archive (ie >5yrs) and one is current. Ours were about £8 from Ryman but they don't do them online.

Smiths have a few other ideas if I'm on the wrong track...

Lakeland have some stuff - including this and this . There's also this , if you fancy something dedicated to storing certificates etc.

Thank you both, am feeling slightly frightened by other people's level of organisation and own state of disarray but will look at these seriously. I think I actually neefd a personal assistant...

Oh gosh - I don't actually use them. MrsBadger sounds much more organised than us. We do in fact have a 4 drawer filing cabinet that I got for free from work (so, ugly, but will hold loads), but there's still loads of paper floating about that needs to be filed.

... should add that there's an inch-thick 'For Filing' pile on the top of the Current crate - just because we have a system doesn't mean we use it!
