Doll's Houses

dd will be 4 soon and I am thinking of a doll's house for her. She doesn't like dolls, only cuddly toys so would have to be big enough for them to fit in (well the small ones anyway!)

Anyone know a good place to get them?

Countess, a relative of dh's bought a good doll's house in Daisy & Tom a couple of years ago. I'll see if I can find it for you.

hang on, she doesn't like dolls so you're thinking of buying her a doll's house?

am mildly perplexed...

CountessDracula · 10/07/2006 15:12

yy I know it's odd but she has a little plastic house given to her ages ago and she loves it, but she stuffs her smaller cuddly toys and lego people in it!

I'm pretty sure it's this one

Much easier to play with than many others I've seen (pricey though)

foxinsocks · 10/07/2006 15:15

does she like the ones that close or are open?

I saw the most beautiful one in an independent toy shop the other day - I'll see if I can find it.

CountessDracula · 10/07/2006 15:22

I think she would prefer one that closed Mercy, that doesn't really look like a house IYKWIM

We got dd the Playmobil one for Christmas which she loves and plays with a lot. It is lovely to look at but has limited room sets and accessories. Plan to get the stairs and another level for her 5th b'day (order direct frm Playmobil).

CountessDracula · 10/07/2006 16:45

hmm not really the sort of thing I had in mind, but thanks anyway

any more?

Have you thought about Sylvanian families at all? They have some lovely houses and are animals... (wouldn't be big enough for cuddly toys though)

saltcod · 10/07/2006 18:38

we got this one for our 4.5 year old dolls house . We painted it & it looks great. Comes with all the furniture & family too. DD (4.5) absolutely loves it..... and she's not really into dolls either

foxinsocks · 10/07/2006 18:57

like that toysrus one, elc has one that is not so expensive and you can paint it

here is a site with some good ones on - I don't think the one I saw in the shop is in there but it was quite similar to one of these - scroll down. The other ones on here that are nice are these but I think you have to paint them still.

Blimey, foxinsocks, you could build a city with that lot! Aren't they nice? Have to say, I like the Toys R Us one, too. Am on the lookout cf dd's Xmas present , so thanks for this thread

foxinsocks · 10/07/2006 19:39

they are nice - thinking about it though, I think the one I saw in the shop was the Victorian Doll's House on here but painted nicely.
