If you buy an iPod, do you have to buy a separate bit of kit to be able to download music from iTunes? Or how does it all work?

Help!

You shouldn't do no, your ipod should come with a wire to conect to your pc, you can download itunes if you don't already have it, and then itunes will automatically find your ipod and transfer the music to it when it's connected.
Downloading music is easy when you get itunes you just go to the itunes store in the player and buy from there.

Thank you! Do you pay for iTunes when you download it, or just pay for each individual song you download?

what is allofmp3? Sorry, I really am wallowing in the depths of ignorance here! I'd kind of assumemd that iPods only worked with iTunes?

You don't pay for to download itunes just individual songs. I havn't used allofmp3 but there are lots of places you can buy songs from, am pretty sure you can them put them into your itunes once downloaded and from there into your ipod hth

it's far easier to buy music through itunes once you have your pod - once you've finished downloading your CDs etc.

allofmp3 are about to be sued because they are not operating legally

foxinsocks · 06/07/2006 17:23

apparently I should say!

an ipod is an mp3 player. You can download itunes onto other mp3 players as far as i am aware. Some people hate them, some people love them.

With any mp3 player you should be given a connecting wire for your computer usually a usb connector (its the rectangular shaped one - some computers have them on the front, some on the back). Usually you get a disk with the correct software and a program to use with player on computer. If not windows should recognise the software needed and be able to download it free.

Most sites such as itunes etc are compatible with most mp3 players cos it means they have a wider range of people to sell to.

ipods are the most widely recognised mp3 players and so have more accesories etc and things are made to be compatible to them, but will usually connect to others as well, as use same connectors, similar software etc.
