Travel system pushchair or not???

Please help - we are having big dilemmas whether getting a travel system is worth it compared to a separate pushchair and car seat?
Any advice? Also any recommendations?

Never had a travel system but thought about it for dd. However would only have used it on public transport occasionally where I used a sling instead. They tend to be quite heavy as a unit.

We have a Britax travel system and it's quite heavy. If you're going to use public transport alot then no don't get one. If on the other hand you live by your car then they are extremely useful when babes are small or sleeping. However check if there's a weight limit when putting the car seat into the pram unit - I couldn't have put DD in past 6 mths as she's such a heffer , and tbh I didn't actually put the carseat unit into the pram all that much. However I loved the pram by itself and ours was a very reasonable £180 for the whole bang shoot so as good a value as buying separates.

Our's is the Britax Ultra (bought 4 years ago, but still in production now) not the prettiest out there but the things I love about it is pram size is plenty big enought to take a toddler, seat lies fully flat for newborn, and has a truely variable backrest position anything from flat to 90 degrees, massive basket and loads of nic-nak pockets, but it is extremely heavy with a child over one and a load of shopping!

If you truely want a travel system the Graco Mosaic looks very light weight compared to more traditional designs and good value too.
