Thinking of having an ikea kitchen. Has anyone got an ikea kitchen & what do you think about it?

Also thinking about having them installing it? anyone had this done & was it ok?

Thanks xxx

we bought an ikea kitchen 4 years ago and are very happy with it. we paid about £1,000 (inc extractor fan, sink and taps) and another £1,000 for a builder we know to fit it. a friend had a couple of "warped" doors delivered which they gladly changed..but she's pleased with hers too. i actually enjoyed sitting with the assistant, planning the kitchen with those little charts they give you, she thought of things I never would have on my own & the advice was v good.

love my ikea pullout larder
esp since Bundle gave me info which put an end to the shelves collapsing (reverse the trays)

Make sure you know what depth worktop you need. We found the standard ones too small, as their cupboards are deeper than average and leave no space for pipes, etc.. behind them.

The quote for them fitting it was way to expensive, so we are doing it ourselves - dp assembled all the units (and he is not a seasoned DIY-er!) which was easy enough, my dad is fitting them, and we are getting a plumber/electrician/gas specialist to help with the sink/cooker/hob. If we had more money would've got someone in to do the lot though.

thanks for the info xxx

I went to ikea yesterday to get help on designing the kitchen as I couldn't work out the planner (thick emoticon here!!) All the kitchens look good but it's hard to know what would be best
