I used to have one that went on the hob but it got old and manky so I chucked it out.

Anyway I recently mad my dad buy a steamer as his diet was awful and he had high blood pressure so now he does himself some veg and a peice of chicken or whatever in his steamer and bobs your uncle.

Thing is, do they do one big enough for me to do meat and veg or fish and veg for a family of 5 ??

If you got a 3 tier one I'm sure you could fit enough in - fish in one basket, veg and potato for example in the other two.

i bought one from my local co op for about £20. its a 3 tier one and you can easily fit 5 or 6 chicken breasts in the bottom tier, then potatoes in the 2nd and the rest of the veg in the top.

its so easy just to put it all in and switch it on and leave it.

by the way i tend to do chicken breasts, potatoes and green beans or something in the steamer and then heat a bbq sauce up and put that over the chicken when its done. that is v nice.

or chicken breast and brown rice done the same way is good

Don't know about a family of 5

I do veg, chicken and fish in ours, but I find I have to do chicken or fish in the plastic tray otherwise the basket gets very manky
