Help! DD1 has just got a ps2 for her birthday, but when she plays one of her new games the picture quality is awful. Like its been drawn in pencil instead of painted, very wishy washy. Is it a fault with the game or the console do you think? Do games vary in picture quality? Sorry totally no idea about gaming .

It doesn't sound right to me, PS2 games are usually v high quality. Take it back to the shop.

Thank www, just what I needed to hear - have sent email to supplier!!

When you turn it on without a game, do the PS2s own graphics look OK? If it is just when you play this game, it sounds like it's faulty. It should look like this scroll down for screenshots.

If it happens with another game, or with no game in, check that all your leads are in tightly and that the TV channel is tuned correctly.

Oh serenity thank you - it doesn't look like that at all. Imagine that picture drawn in pale pastelly pencil cross hatch sort of thing!! Trouble is coz I ordered over internet I suppose I'll have to go through the process of parcelling it up and going to post office (which we don't have many of and they are always chockablock busy!!). Hey ho!

I just realised they are Game Cube graphics, but it doesn't matter tbh.

Is it OK with other games etc? 'cos DH says it sounds like a tuning/cable issue from your description rather than a faulty game.

Oops sorry only just seen this. Will try setting up everything again and put game on to see if any difference first. Thanks for advice.
