E3 EXPLORER vs EASYLIFE SPORT vs MOUUNTAIN BUGGY - SOMEONE HELP ME CHOOSE!

My son is 2.5 years old and I want a suitable buggy for walking the dog etc, that will last til he's about 5 if poss.

Which is lightest / best out of these - has anyone pushed them all?

i love the mountain buggy urban and used it for a couple of years, and am a bit of a pramaholic so have had plenty of prams and pushchairs, but always ended up going back to the mountain buggy urban.

i stopped using it because my ds2 is very tall for his age and started to look silly in it.

although i don't live in London, i have regularly used it in LOndon centre, for shopping etc and it wheels as nicely around selfridges and bond street as it does on walks in the country.

i would say it dpends on how often you were going to use it 'off road' as to if it would be a good purchase, if you are a towny and rarely venture anywhere other than the local park for all terraining them the pramette is probably better for you as it converts to a stroller that will last until your child is three ish.

Many thanks vickiyumyum and chuffed for the advice . Getting more and more converted to the mountain buggy, vis-a-vis the pramette.

Any advice on the cheapest place in UK to get the Mountain Buggy from?

Chuffed · 22/07/2005 10:26

no help on the buying thing as my parents brought ours over from NZ when they came when dd was born.
I think kiddicare have got pretty good prices on all their buggies though.

We had a Mountain Buggy Urban Double, super thing, bit of a brute but ever so solid - it's a bit too big for our new place so went for Phil & Ted E3 Double .........nice - very narrow and slightly lighter than the MB

BUT OH DEAR SOMEONE HAS DROPPED A CLANGER....the handlebar comes off when you are going down any kind of hill.....A BIT SCARY.......the shop is trying to sort it out but I think we'll be sending it back under Distance Selling Regs not to mention Health & Safety!

i ahve found the cheapest and easiest place to buy the mountain buggy from is kiddicare.com i have ordered loads of baby equipment form here and they always deliver on time, quickly and are good with the customer service if you have any questions.

when i last looked they still had the 2004 version as well as the 2005 (2004 fixed handle. 2005 new colours and adjustable handle)

Thanks

Unfortunately, Vicki, kiddicare use an 0906 number for their 'customer care'........and rant for ages about why they won't bother to reply to your emails.........you pays yer money & takes yer choice

vickiyumyum · 26/07/2005 08:09

i've never had a problem with them. i've ordered many a pushchair, high chair, car seat, cot and things like car sunshades and never had a problem with them.

JOhn Lewis on the other hand. take my money and tell me it'll be four weeks and eight weeks later i cancel my order and order from kiddicare which arrives the next day!
