"Henry" or "Vax"? what would you recommend?

Having read the recent thread on choosing a vacuum cleaner I was going to get a Henry, but I'm tempted by the Vax, so that we can wash as well.Have six month old who likes to do sicky burps and splash food around now, and I assume it will only get worse! I was wondering if the vax would be useful? Any thoughts?

There's a washing version of Henry ( I think ) - George, James or Charles?.......the Green one anyway.

flutterbee · 24/06/2006 10:05

The Henry is much better so if there is a washing version I would go for that, I may even have to look for it myself as I too have a sicky burpy baby.

Here you go - it's George Isn't he sweet?

NotQuiteCockney · 24/06/2006 10:10

I briefly thought this was a baby names thread. Sorry, I'm no use.

I've been using a Henry for years. They are very light to use.

Why not ask jimjams?

Don't get a Vax, they weigh about as much as a small car. And be honest, how many times are you really going to shampoo the carpet? It's a huge palava getting it set up to do that. Henry much better.

southeastastra · 24/06/2006 14:40

i like my vax i must be sad because i wash the carpet quite alot

virago · 24/06/2006 15:04

thanks for your help -the george looks quite good, and not much dearer than a henry - about the cost of hiring a carpet cleaner once! We were foolish enough to think we wouldn't have children so we have cream carpets, except they have grey patches now, so I think we would use the wash bit quite a lot! Can anyone tell me if the george still works really well as an ordinary vacuum?
