Please Find Me A Change Table!

Looking at nursery furniture - everything seems vastly overpriced or completely impractical

What we're looking for:
A white change table
Top wide enough for a change mat
Drawers underneath
Don't care about build quality
MUST be £200 or under (preferably £100!!)

Where we have looked:
Argos (seen one we like but not in white )
Mothercare (rather expensive for the spec)
John Lewis (too expensive)
Index (nothing appropriate)
Two Left Feet (seen a nice one but has a cupboard on one side and very small drawers)
Kiddicare (no units with drawers)

Surely I haven't got that demanding a criteria?! Have run out of places to look - any ideas for cheap furniture suppliers?

Oh ... forgot to say - preferably a company which has a catalogue online because I'm a lazy cow and hate dragging around shops

on a roll now , as also looking for baby furniture. try this very cheap . Seeems to cheap but may be call , makesure they are not a wholesaler for retail.

GenT · 14/02/2004 12:57

melsy that baby den is exactly the idea of a playpen I was looking for dd. I managed to fashion one from a clothes dryer and it works.

but that one can take any shape, should tell mammyshirl about that, I think she was looking for a way of containing her little one.could be mistaken maybe it was someone else

GenT · 15/02/2004 06:32

did you have a look GeorginaA?

melsy · 15/02/2004 08:26

Were u gone GeorginaA, have we lost u in IKEA!!!!!

GeorginaA · 15/02/2004 09:13

LOL yes still here, sorry. We went out yesterday afternoon to a Mothercare World and totally failed to find a carseat or a pushchair we liked either, so we're doing well on the baby purchases, not!

Thank you for all those links - unfortunately still nothing that is really quite right Am reluctant to get a wall-mounted changing unit although they would be good space savers, because we once tried a wall-mounted TV bracket and the plaster board couldn't cope! The thought of it being a baby on the falling bracket doesn't bear thinking about!!

We still have a shelf-based changing table from the first time around, but it's so big and bulky and impractical At a pinch, we can use the great suggestion about baskets on it (thanks twiglett!) but really I wanted to be able to combine clothing storage with the changing unit to avoid cluttering the small room quite so much!

Oh well, worst case - we'll use the change mat on our bed to change the baby on! Just so silly that when you do finally have the money to invest in a useful bit of furniture, you can't find what you want!
