Want to buy some new aftershave for DH for wedding anniversary present.

He like fresh/cool/citrusy types, ie nothing heavy/musky/really perfumed.

What's your favourite??!!

TIA

Acqua di Parma - apparantly it was Cary Grants favourite. Very classic cologne type - would be right up your DHs street - comes in very classy classic bottle too. DH wore it for our wedding/honeymoon always brings back memories for me. Wear it myself sometimes too. Gorgeous.

DW (good nose) - Eau Sauvage, Isy (again), A de G (again), 212 (again), Jo Malone Lime Basil Mandarin.

Just out of interest, how many of you on a whiff of scent and how many

puff · 20/06/2006 20:41

My fave is still Eau Sauvage, about 25 years after I first sniffed it!

Cod · 20/06/2006 20:41

lol at kouros scoring os highly

hub2dee · 20/06/2006 20:43

dw wasn't very impressed with the kouros gals, LOL.

mosschops30 · 20/06/2006 20:50

dh wears issy which is lovely.

This is really sad but me and a workmate had a thing for Platinum by Chanel, we would go out for lunch and bring each other those little spray cards back and sniff it. To me thats what my ideal man would be wearing when he swept me off my feet

Piffle · 20/06/2006 20:53

fahrenheit is totally lust worthy

Piffle · 20/06/2006 20:55

xeryus and jazz, bought both of those for my first love
Should have spent it on a bloody toss pot radar

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 20/06/2006 20:56

How a man smells makes a huge difference to me. I couldnt go out with a smelly man! But its 212 that really does it for me, brings back some rather nice memories which also helps. I like Tommy also.

VVVQV · 20/06/2006 20:58

PMSL piffle!

JoolsToo · 20/06/2006 21:00

dh doesn't wear aftershave much and hasn't had Kouros for years (it was in a white bottle with blue writing?) it's still my fav though - I don't care if its old

Mercy · 20/06/2006 21:08

dh doesn't use aftershave but kourous still reminds me of a previous bf. It reminds me of happy times Blush

hub2dee - I love the Jo Malone lime, basil thing. Reminds me of dh's fantastic aunt - she's a bit mad but I love her, as do my children

amazonianwoman · 20/06/2006 23:20

Toss pot radar - hilarious!!

Despite my post, I'm not actually that fussed about a man smelling of nice aftershave LOL, hence liking fresh smelling/citrusy ones that just smell, well, clean.

However, I'd swoon in an instant over a man in groovy glasses with a wicked sense of humour, a cute smile, stocky build (but not gym-manufactured), who loves acting on impulse. Not much to ask really...

or wozzit silver?

Piffle · 21/06/2006 10:12

I wear Jo Malone lime basil mandarin, cannot see dp in it at all

dublindee · 21/06/2006 10:18

Joop Nightflight - I have been known to turn and follow behind blokes in the street just to keep sniffing the air.

Phwoaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Hub2dee - real important he's not smelly in a bad way but sometimes a clean blokey smell can be jsut as / more sexy than aftershave..... unless it's Nightflight - then I hop on them!

alexsmum · 21/06/2006 10:20

lagerfeld by karl lagerfeld is yummy beyond belief.smells a bit like sherbet.have been trying to find it to buy for dh but can't get it anywhere.have googled it and it's available online so maybe will order it.just lovely.

hub2dee · 21/06/2006 13:11

Maybe he's not the citrusy type, piffle ? LOL. Some scents deffo 'work' on some and not on others... to do with how the skin reacts IIRC.

I prefer to not wear a scent I think. It kind of annoys me, much to dw's dismay. I've had just about all the citrusy ones mentioned on this thread though. Artisan Parfumeur Fig one (something figuiers) is also quite different / nice, but is heavier. Quite like Amen (male Angel) although it's again a lot darker and heavier. I'll often have a spritz to keep dw sweet or if we're going out though. Will be careful in my choice for any meetups, eh - wouldn't want anyone to end up with a sprained neck.
