Help me make this bunk bed.

Dd is to be turned out of her cot as ds is outgrowing his crib. I'm afraid she isn't going to like it very much.
Anyway I have bought \link{http://www.just-beds.co.uk/products/Julian%20Bowen%20Beds/nickleby_bunk.htm\this bunk} and now I need to put bedding on it. I'm guessing I can put her into the top bunk (they'll be separated) and utilise the railings at first.

What about vertebaudet?
I don't want to get anything princessy or pink.
Any other suggestions

Damn!! I've just realised that the image I have just posted is a good bit cheaper than what I have just bought, and the mattresses Angry

can you send yours back and reorder these ones?

MrsDoolittle · 20/06/2006 11:12

I don't know. I have just ordered the bunk and two mattresses, and a headboard and found them all cheaper on another website.
I have spoken to the chap this morning and he was so nice

On this website the bed is £131 and mattresses £55. I have just bought it on another site for £170 and the mattresses were £60 each. £319 in total!!

hang on, was the title meant to be 'make this bunk bed appealing' or something? I was all ready to wade in with my flat pack expertise!

How old is dd? Top bunks aren't usually recommended till 6yo, so I guess if she's young enough to still be in a cot she'll have to go on the bottom bunk.

If she's into playhouses and such, a \link{http://www.objects-of-design.com/products1/77/scatlev/443/beach-hut-play-house.htm\playhouse front} (similar available cheaper elsewhere I'm sure) may appeal. Or a pair of curtains may have a similar effect but I can't seem to lay my hands on anywhere that makes them specially for bunks.

White Company is a good place to start for bedding ideas, but are phenomenally expensive. I like plain dyed stuff in a mix of colours - JL or Argos are pretty good - or Ikea have some stylish not-too-flowery florals.

ring him up and make soemthing up - it won't fit, or your dh has jsut ordered one.

MrsDoolittle · 20/06/2006 11:27
