Rocking toys and wheelie bugs

thinking about buying dd a rocking horse type thing for either her first birthday or Christmas (she'll be 15 months). We've looked at a few incl m&p's ones, little tikes ones and some that are on offer on kiddicare. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions that could help us reach a decision? Also thinking about poss buying a wheelie bug for which ever occasion we don't get a rocker for, again any experience, comments on this product etc would be appreciated. Thanks!

i would buy one or other - not both as they won't play with them. Anything that rocks is going to get a lot of play out of it and last for the next couple of years.

how about the little tikes (? or is it berchet) horse where you can detach the rocking part when they get bigger so can sit on horse and push/walk it around?

will try and find a pic......

we currently have a wheelie bug on loan and dd2 ( 18 months) adores it!
we also have a rocking horse that she loves too that we already had

think she'd love either or

'scuse my ignorance but what is a wheelie bug?!!

hana · 19/06/2006 11:49

it's a little ladybird or some sort of 'bug' that's low to the ground and has 4 swivel wheels. The kids sit on it and scoot around using both feet. Has a handle to hang on to they are £50 thou Shock
although dd loves the borrowed one so much, might get one if they ever go on sale somewhere, and then nubmer 3 can enjoy as well!

Hi twiga!

we've always liked the little tikes basic rocker (costs about 12.99, mothercare stock it) which is great because it can be an outside toy too.

the other lovely thing is the Galt wooden trike. ds starting liking his about 15months and still loves it.

think we might buy no2 a wheeliebug though not entirely sure how we'd justify the cost...

FWIW - if you were to be buying one for christmas and one for b'day i'd suggest the rocker first. we have pictures of ds on a rocker at 10 months, but wasn't into sit upons until nearer 15 months.
