Is SKIL a good power tool make? Crisis over fathers day prez!

Feeling really low. :(
DH is incredibly fussy about things. The most picky, ungreateful but still lovely person I've ever met.
He asked for a new cordless drill/ screwdriver for FD. There are not many places to buy round here. Argos had loads in the catalogue but non in stock. I battled my way through a huge traffic jam to Power World only to find them closed for 2 days stocktaking. So I went to the builders yard and basically they only had one option. It was £90 - a skil 14v hammer drill with quick charge and 2 batteries. Looked like just what I needed so I grabbed it and dashed off to get my kids.
Met a friend at the gate and told her and she just said "oh thats a really c**p make".
I was left almost in tears and am now panicking that DH will hate it.
I know this is totally silly and irrational. That he can swap it anyway if he really hates it and that its probably fine but I still feel miserable and low. Can anyone reassure me that SKIL is actually a good make? They tend to supply builders so I would have thought it should be pretty good but need some cheering up.

my grandad swears by it and he is a powertool fiend. it may be an american make as we are from over the pond and it is popular at home.
