please convert to the new dove version.

It is 100 times better. Smells so much nicer and soaks in much quicker and easier.

and..... the best bit is that the tan is so much nicer too. More natural looking, not orangy.

oh and bought a great new tanning mitt, well 2 in the box, 1 for face and 1 for body for 99p in Morrisons. You have to use the mitt to avoid streaking!

I have just discovered Fake Bake - it is fantastic - better than St Tropez or any other fake I've tried, and I've tried most of them. AND it doesn't smell, at all!
Johnson's Holiday stuff is vile.

Flossam · 14/06/2006 22:36

Have also tried and much prefer Dove.

Blossomhill · 14/06/2006 22:37

ok snafu [blows rasberry] Grin

sally - no they don't but i use it on my face. it's on offer in boots at the moment, £3.30 i think.

turquoise - where do you buy your fake bake from?

flossam - another convertee then Grin

BH,you have floored me.
You are Ms Johnson!
I was going to tell you how much I like it after using it for a few days now (with tanning mitt natch)
Legs are nice and smooth too.

Socci · 14/06/2006 22:41

Johnsons holiday stuff is not great but it is also no worse than Lancome imo. Would love to try one that doesn't smell.

Katymac · 14/06/2006 22:44

I used it (johnsons) and my skin burnt Sad

I washed it all off - but my legs were red for hours (about 4)

Turquoise · 14/06/2006 22:44

Fenwicks - it's fake tan rather than moisturiser with tan, so instant effect and more expensive, but SO worth it (only bought it yesterday and keep sticking my legs out to admire the colour!) Not orange at all, and most fakes give me a rash as well as the tango effect - johnson's certainly did.

bakedpotato · 14/06/2006 22:45

Dove stinks
Am shuddering to think that anything could smell 100 times worse

moondog · 14/06/2006 22:46

I had a prfessional St Trpez application a month or so ago.
That was shite.

Socci · 14/06/2006 22:46

lol at the tango effect.

Legacy · 14/06/2006 23:02

Can someone explain the tanning mitt thing?

quanglewangle · 14/06/2006 23:08

Well, I love Johnsons - but you do have to make sure you use the right colour. I tried the one for normal to dark skin by mistake. A quicker result but the wrong colour for my skin. The one for fair to normal skin takes a while for the colour to build up but the colour is perfect for me.

schnapps · 15/06/2006 00:08

Turquoise, which type of fake tan did you use (cream/spray/mist)?

Whenever I use any fake tan I seem to get darker dots all over my legs, it's like each pore in my skin, or where each hair follicle is, fills with the cream or whatever and so I have these tiny dots of tan which are darker than the rest. Does anyone else get this? What can I do to prevent it?

kate100 · 15/06/2006 02:03

I'm using the L'Oreal one at the moment, better than Johnsons or Dove, smells a lot better than either and a nice even colour.

chonky · 15/06/2006 06:11

Totally agree BH. I am another Dove convert.

scienceteacher · 15/06/2006 06:26

Olay Everyday Sunshine is good - no streaking - and it has an SPF of 15

moondog · 15/06/2006 13:20

Legacy,it is just a mitt you buy in Body Shop (or other places) to apply tan.Avoids the streaky look you get when putting it on with fingers.

Oblomov · 17/06/2006 09:51

O.k. thi stuff is just working for me
Advice please ?

I have been exfoliating with a mitt.
I do not have an even coverage.
I have hardly any colour at all.
I have streaks.
It feels all sticky and tacky, all day long.
I put it on yesterday morning. This morning, our bed sheets are covered in it.

How come evryone else has such good results ?

tallmummy · 17/06/2006 10:16

Have just applied a liberal coating of the garnier summer body one - smells nice at moment but as the day goes by it starts to smell fake tanny. Works well - shoulders looking bronzed although knees are a little orange. I find it looks more natural if you apply it every 3-4 days and moisturise loads in between.

Blossomhill · 17/06/2006 10:25

Have to say the one downfall of Dove is that it goes patchy after a few days. Whether that is because you should apply everyday and I am not I don't know?
