urban mountain buggy carry cots, do i need one?

1st baby due in a few months and i have just got hold of a 2nd hand urban mountain buggy but without the carry cot.has anyone used the buggy without a carry cot for their newborns? just interested to know if i have to buy the carry cot as well. its all adding up!!

I would say yes. the buggy without it is a bit 'slingy' if you know what i mean - it's not flat enough. and that's not because i have one for sale! it can double as somewhere for the baby to sleep downstairs in the first few weeks. we used it comnstantly until dd2 was 6 months and she's quite happy in the buggy itself now but i wouldn't have used it for a newborn without the carrycot.
do you want to buy mine? it's in good nick - the zip snapped in half and we replaced it with a keyring but apart from that it's very good.
