which cars have the largest boot?

I don't want an estate or a people carrier just a regular hatchback or saloon with a boot that's at least 140 cm long (flightcases).

Any ideas?

Im not sure of the exact size but focus has a pretty big boot and lovely to drive.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 09/08/2013 21:22

I have a skoda superb and the boot is HUGE

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 09/08/2013 21:24

review here with boot dimensions

Why not an estate? Just wondering ... I have a Mazda 6 estate, huge boot. I love being able to lob in the double buggy with room to spare!

SimLondon · 09/08/2013 21:43

Thanks but the focus boot length is apparently 92 cm
the superb is an estate right? im looking for a non-estate.

The vectra had the biggest boot I've ever owned - don't know what kind of age/budget you have in mind.

FatimaLovesBread · 09/08/2013 21:47

Superb isn't an estate.
What about a Skoda Octavia? Think that's the biggest non-estate boot you'll get.
Or a mondeo?

Bunbaker · 09/08/2013 21:52

The Mondeo has a huge boot, much larger than that of a Focus.

OH has a Mondeo and I have a Focus, so I know.

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 09/08/2013 21:53

I have a Honda Jazz, and find the boot huge for the size of car, but the best thing about it is the magic seat feature which means you get more space if needed by folding down the back seat/s or from raising the seat base in the rear to use the space where the seat would be.

JollyHappyGiant · 09/08/2013 21:53

We have a 5 seater Citroen Berlingo Multispace. Most people who see inside it comment on the size of the boot. It has a 675l capacity under the parcel shelf when all 5 seats are in the car. But with all the seats in it is only 990 x 1200mm. I think you might be struggling.

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 09/08/2013 21:55

Oops ignore me, missed the 140cm bit - no idea if the Jazz comes close.

fanoftheinvisibleman · 09/08/2013 21:55

Don't know the measurements but we had a Mazda 6 last time and have a Seat Toledo at the moment and both have huge boots.

A friend who needs both a buggy and adult wheelchair for two of her children has just got a Vectra.

Shattereddreams · 09/08/2013 21:56

Is an S max a people carrier? It's basically a fancy Mondeo (same chassis). No bigger boot on earth. And extra seats in an instant.

Actually, talk of the Honda Jazz has reminded me that the Civic boot is pretty large

PeazlyPops · 09/08/2013 22:02

I have a vauxhall insignia, the boot is huge.

FatimaLovesBread · 09/08/2013 22:04

We've been looking for a big boot or an estate and I think we're probably going to go with an Octavia. Ideally I want a smaller car with magic boot space but after test driving the Octavia it didn't fee as big as I thought it would.

Someone above suggested the Seat Toledo, if you're interested in that then look at the Skoda Rapid as well, it's the same car so they're may be better deals on one or the other.

For big boots that aren't estate or MPV you really need to look at a saloon or van type ones.

IS a VW touran a people carrier? The boot on that is pretty darn huge and you get the two bonus seats too for ferrying dcs mates and relatives around.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 09/08/2013 22:36

superb is not an estate, it is a saloon / hatch
sepending on which swtich you use to open the boot space.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 09/08/2013 22:38

sorry didn't realise initial link was to the estate version

NoComet · 09/08/2013 22:40

SMax is very wide, Focus Estate is far nicer to park.

WMittens · 10/08/2013 08:54

There's an estate version and a saloon/hatch version.
