Can't believe it is cheaper for me to buy a new printer than buy cardtridges for the one I already have.

Angry

Dd1 wants to do her project on the computer but the cartridges have run out.

Cheapest I have found so far is about £16 for each one but the delivery is 3 days and the project has to be in for Friday.

Argos are charging over £50 for the 2. Wilkos have a printer with cartridges on sale for £20.

what about jettec cartridges? what printer is it?

Munz · 13/06/2006 12:02

have u tried those top up ink thingy's form tescos? u use the same cartridge but inject fresh ink into them - works on our cannon printer, but not the lexmark we've found. think DH only paid about £15 for colour and Black.

It's a Lexmark X1190.

I am not keen on buying compatibles as I ruined my last printer doing that.

Not sure those fill em up things would work either.

Will see if Wilkos do the cartridges for mine and how much they are, if they are something stupid I might just buy the cheap printer instead.

I had a bad experience with cartridge world but I have founbd the jettec ones perfect, but I have an epson printer

Munz · 13/06/2006 12:06

they won't on the lexmark - we had a x 5150, DH used the top up thingy it did one sheet then buggered it up so def don't use that on a lexmark.

how about the inkjetsandtoners?

Munz · 13/06/2006 12:09

think that's the cheapest i've seen lexmark zip. the inkjets site isn't working for some reason - lexmark are crappy with the cost of their cartridges, but if memory serves me right they did last for ages b4 they went.

zippitippitoes · 13/06/2006 12:09

can't she print it off at school?

nutcracker · 13/06/2006 12:09

Can't get the inkjetsandtoners site for some reason, just keep getting a blank page.

Apparently not Zippi, I asked her to ask and the teacher said no because then everyone would want to do that.

Ahh well I'll just have to buy some and make her do all the housework for the next month Wink

shame..well if anyone does have an epson I recommend inkraider for jettec and they last longer because they 30% extra ink!
