Have tried the usual Ikea etc but I am really struggling to find something thats big enough.

Ideally I want it to be at least 130 cms wide by perhaps 90/100 cms tall.

It's to brighten up a dark bit of a room- I don't have a huge budget but would appreciate some suggestions if you're not sunning yourself Smile

Junk shop or auction rooms? Usually some good deals around.

megglevache · 11/06/2006 13:03

Have tried too Franny. Just the teeny ones I am finding up for sale.

Do you have a Range near you?

My grandparents bought me a huge one there for £60

FrannyandZooey · 11/06/2006 13:07

I don't enjoy the sun Angry

I am trying to survive till tea time when it should be bearable to venture out, and am going to slope round a friend's for paddling pool / barbeque combo. I am just killing time till then...

Have you got one of those shops The Range near you? Wilkinson's?

FrannyandZooey · 11/06/2006 13:08

Snap boris. I think the Range would be the one to try.

WelshBoris · 11/06/2006 13:10

great minds Ms Franny great minds

Wilkinsons do really big mirrors and they are very cheap i got one about 140 cm tall by about 70 cm for 16 pound the other day so it's worth trying there to see if there are any big enough

apronstrings · 11/06/2006 14:22

We have bought unframed mirror from a glazier - and had it cut to the size we wanted. This is a very plain option of course but cheaper than a conventional froamed mirror.

mustrunmore · 11/06/2006 14:43

I've just thrown one almost that big in the skip Shock We'd undercoated the frame, then had ds2 and gave up all non essential tasks. You could have had it if you were anywhere near me, if you could be bothered to finish the frame!

megglevache · 11/06/2006 15:03

OOOh where are you?

we have a huge lovely one. it was from a kind of discount pine shop...£40 (actually they threw it in free cos we were getting married Wink Grin Take it you're not in cardiff? Could try to remember what its called.

Actually though ours is EVEN MORE huge than that.

We also got one from the range for £30.

MaryBS · 11/06/2006 16:47

I was going to say Wilkinsons as well!

Carmenere · 11/06/2006 16:53

what is this 'The Range' place? a search on the internet brings up nothing but agas.

neena28 · 11/06/2006 17:32

Bump what is the range?

JanH · 11/06/2006 17:44

Defo the Range - I got a nice one from there, about that size, not sure - it was #35 or #40 anyway.

Our Range is where our B&Q used to be, if it helps.

JanH · 11/06/2006 18:12

Try \link{http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction.do?keywords=&companyName=the+range&location=Blackburn&searchType=classic&broaderLocation=LANCASHIRE%7CNORTH+WEST+ENGLAND%7CENGLAND%7CUNITED+KINGDOM&ooa=on\Yellow Pages} - change Blackburn to large town near you.

Carmenere · 11/06/2006 18:20

There doesn't seem to be one near Croydon or Sutton, maybe it's a northern thing? Thankyou though!

littlerach · 11/06/2006 18:22

Q&D

mustrunmore · 11/06/2006 19:37

We're in north London. If you see this in the next few mins and you want it, I can go and rescue it, else it'll be too late.

megglevache · 11/06/2006 21:38

Bit too far for me to collect but thanks anyway-that was very kind.
