I hate the way this thig dominates the lounge - anyone seen any moern looking storage units that could hide it away?? or any other ideas?

get one of these tellys that is a mirror when switched off

you can get a choice of frame and everything

those are really clever! dP really wants a plasma, but it wouldn't look right in our lounge and we only bought a normal tv last year, so he is going to have to wait. I don't suppose you could rearrange your lounge and wall mount it?

tracyk · 09/06/2006 11:27

I'm going to try and talk him into wall mounting it - but do you have to be directly in front of it to see it properly?

not if it is a decent one I don't think. The max degree of the viewing angle varies.

i didnt like ours when dh bought it, but he wall mounted it and hid all the cables behind the wall, and it looks very professional and sleek now

ideally you need to have it wall mounted at eyelevel, which initially looks too low but you get used to it and its great to watch

the best thing i found is it frees up loads of floor space (we have the dvd player etc on a small stand in a corner of the room about 6 feet away and all the cables go behind the wall from the telly to the stand)

I agree with np. DH got one last year and I love it. It's wall mounted so all the cables etc are hidden away. Lot of space and less clutter..!!!
