My hairdryer has gone to the big salon in the sky........

My wonderful powerful hairdryer died this morning (halfway through drying my hair so I am now nice and frizzy for the day!).
Can anyone recommend a good powerful hairdryer that dries hair quickly? I have long thick hair so need one with plenty of wattage! Anything with similar drying power as the ones in hairdressers would be fab!
Any ideas please?

Also - has anyone got one with ionisers (sp?) and does it make any difference?
Thanks

Hi southeastastra - I think that's the one I had! Is yours sort of gold coloured with pink buttons?
It still takes 1/2 hr to dry my hair so I'm after something with more oooomph.

Will be watching this with interest. My last hairdrier turned out to be v disappointing, heavy and not that fast so I've been using my little travel one,but keep fearing it will pop its clogs...

which one did you have Miriam2?

no, my ones black and silver, have you tried it again, sometimes they stop when they overheat.

yorkshirelass79 · 08/06/2006 10:27

Yeah, it's gone off before and worked when it cooled down, but today it blew up, it made a loud popping noise and there was a horrid burning smell. I let it cool for a good 40 mins and it wouldn't go back on Sad

Yes, I've got one with ionisers. No, I don't think it makes a difference.
