Is there such thing as a nice baby doll these days?

I am so disappointed with dolls for girls these days. When I was about 4 I had a lovely Zapf doll but they just don't exist any more. We had a baby Annabell which my dds didn't like at all and I ended up giving it to Oxfam! I thought it was very unlike a baby (weird head, strange smell to it and strange proportions). Do most people like baby annabell and we're just odd?

I agree - I find most plastic dolls, including Baby Annabell, very creepy.

My dd1 has \link{http://www.baby-toys.co.uk/baby_stella_dress_up_doll_from_manhattan_toys_uk.htm\Baby Stella}which is a soft cuddly fabric doll.

I don't know what a Zapf doll is, but if you try looking on eBay maybe there will be some vintage ones on there?

my child like My Child Dolls. they are actually mine as they are considered vintage thease days.

dd has a baby chouchou which is also made by zapf but cuter than annabel. does have that plasticy smell but i figured that's because it's made of plastic?

I agree LIZS, dd has the Tidou suce-pouce model which she loves but she is only 20 months.

Zapf are the makers of Baby Annabell. They used to make lots of lovely dolls but stopped about 8 years ago. The Corolle dolls are more like what I used to have. I also like Baby Stella.
