DS wants a "big" bike for his birthday (3) this month.

Not sure what to go for. 12 or 14"?

Anywhere good to buy online? Got the girls from MailOrder Express

I've been looking about - ds is a little unstable on his trike (tendency to tip over going round corners, which I'm sure isn't a particularly good design feature...)and I fancied the idea of a bike. I came across this one :
\link{http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/Product_arborescence/Bikes_and_rolle/Bikes/Childrens_and_t/Beginners_14__b/product_3263431/index.html}
which looks quite fun, although I haven't seen one in reality yet.

Doh, can't seem to get the link to work in preview - if all else fails look up beginners 14" k series bikes in Decathlon.co.uk's bikes section!

Check his inside leg measurement but unless he is very tall a 14" will be way too high for him to get his feet down.

DD's bike, bought for her 3rd birthday, was 14 inch. She could just manage it then. We bought from an independent bike shop.

We just bought a 14" for our DD who turned 3 last week. She's of average height for her age and she manages just fine.
The seat is on its lowest setting but then that means she shouldn't grow out of it too quickly.
We got ours from ToysRUs.

Don't get 12", he'll have grown out of it by the end of the summer. My DD's went straight onto a 14" at 3 and managed fine, and are still using it at 5.4 - although admittedly it is a bit small now Grin
