I need to buy about 24 bottles of wine - half red and half white, and about 10 bottles of sparkling wine, for our wedding. Any suggestions - the budget is as cheap as chips..!

Hello Dottydot! Many congrats! I don't think I said that before!
Aldi for wine - be careful with red, very cheap red can be vinegary, but we used Aldi (or was it Lidl? No, I think it was Aldi) for our wine and it was fine! You can get cheap sparkly wine for the toasts too.

Aldi is good for wine, my dh often picks up the cheap wine and finds it okay.

You could also try CostCo if you have one near you. Can get what would be a relatively priced nice wine in a supermarket for a cheaper price.
Congraultions to you and Juno btw :)

Bear in mind the supermarkets do discounts the more you buy & Tesco online always has good deals on wine that they don't do in the shops.
Have a lovely day Smile

I second Lidl or Aldi.

The wine w/the ecru label and burgundy writing on the label - it's a French line - in Lidl is VERY drinkable and a great price.

Congrats!

The Minvervois stuff is particularly nice - not too sweet, not too dry, nice and round.

Have you considered buying boxes instead of bottles as that works out a lot cheaper when you have to cater for people.

For sparkling, you can usually pick up Spanish Cava quite cheap. Not well up on UK outlets these days (I'm in Germany) but would also recommend looking in Aldi or Lidl. Our local Aldi does a passable Italian Prosecco for 1,50 € (about a quid Shock).
