Three carseats across the back of an estate car?

Anyone done this successfully? And if so, in what car? Two high-backed boosters and a rearward-facing baby seat. The baby seat needs to be on one side, not in the middle.

friend has 3 high backed ones (4yr;5yr;6yrolds) in the back of a berlingo.

I've had 2 high backed and a britax first class (in forward facing mode) in a zafira and an astra. - was a squash but all were safely fitted.

all 3 cars had 3 proper seat belts in back - wouldn't do it if had to use a lap belt

What seats did you use?

A Mondeo's got to be bigger than an Astra, surely? So how come we're not managing?!
