Fingerprint Jewellery - your thoughts/experiences please...

I've always loved the idea of fingerprint jewellery - way before I'd even had children, but now I have the chance to get some (impending 30th present from DH), I suddenly am not sure about exactly what to get.

I have 2 DCs 2.5yrs and 4mths. My first question is whether anyone has done this kind of thing with a small baby? She has lovely little lines on her fingers, but I'm wary of us parting with nearly £200 for a little blobby type indentation...!

DH's suggestion is the handprints and footprints instead, but then I'm not completely convinced that you really properly get an idea of their uniqueness that way...?

Finally, anyone recommend a specific company at all?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

DH got me a necklace made by Smallprint for my 30th. It has ds1's fingerprint and name on one side and ds2's on the other.

I love it and wear it every day.

I have a handprint charm from Neverland keepsake creations. The handprint was taken from a photograph and is exactly how the photo shows my dd's handprint. I absolutely adore it and if you speak to Claire who runs the business and makes all of the jewellery she will be able to advise you on the fingerprint stuff
