Dd would love some bauer roller skates, but too expensive, any suggetions please?

Can anyone reccommend some quad skates that are nice and sturdy and smooth to ride, not the cheap plastic cr*p that you get in woolies, and are a bit 'cool' but not as expensive as bauers please?

how much are bauers these days compared to other skates? bauers are 'the' skates to have, they are brilliant to use, and ireally really wanted some when i skated. with the big hockey socks and clips. [nostalgic]

how old is dd? ias she a serious skater?

No, not a serious skater, would be rolling around the streets with her bauer clad friends. She did have roller skating lessons for a while and she really enjoyed it, the teacher wasn't very nice though, so trying to find another local skating club for her to join. She's 11

for an 11yr old skating round the streets i wouldnt buy bauers. i was a regular skating at the rink+streets from around 7. i didnt know what bauers were till i reached 13. but with 3 skating fans in the family (my younger bro+sis) there was no way i could have some. i'll have a look and see what i can find? whats her skating shoe size?

So, whats a good alternative to bauers then? Any suggestions? She's a size 2 so would prob need size 3/4 skates.

i will have a look out later, john lewis usedto sell quad skates, but think they are all inline now.
