Britax Highliner £22 in tesco

Thats it really...

one of the safest car seats for 4+ / 15kg+ year olds is in tesco for £22... (instead of RRP £60)

I picked up another today for when my youngest charge FINALLY reaches 15kg... she's 4 years old and 14 1/2 kg today (with shoes and clothes on)

Im hoping she'l make the 15kg mark before she starts school in September!

Ooh, I must remember to go tomorrow. I want a cheap, but safe car seat for my holiday in 3 weeks. Thanks.

NannyL · 23/05/2006 22:38

it was at tesco Extra by the way (if it makes a difefrence!)

Ah, right. Now how do I know if a a tescos is a Tescos extra?

NannyL · 23/05/2006 22:41

ummm i dont know.... but most of the "big" stores are tesco extra...

In my opinion tesco 'Extras' sell things like washing machines / a large selection of home electrical stuff / general home stuff / buggies / car seats as well as food!

Did they have any for younger ones, did you notice?

We need another for DS for DH' car.

NannyL · 24/05/2006 09:23

I dont think so.... they had the ranger for about £50 but that one does REALLY badly in the crash tests!

Katemum · 24/05/2006 13:26

Xena · 24/05/2006 16:54

hulababy · 24/05/2006 17:53

None in the Doncaster branch :( Went over there specially and none in.

Don't suppose anyone is any where near(ish) to me (Sheffield) - if you see one somewhere localish, let me know?!

Xena · 24/05/2006 19:16

Kbear- computer died only just replaced it. I was just pg last time we spoke and now DS2 is 5 weeks old! Dreadfull pg 3 weeks spent in QMH, but much slimmer due to awful food Grin Am of to thurock to buy 3 hopefully 2 for me and 1 for my younger sisters little girl.

mysonsmummy · 24/05/2006 19:34

have tried to find in at tesco extra on-line but cant - has anyone found it?

my nearest big tesco is sunbury cross - anyone seen it there? thanks

AllBuggiedOut · 24/05/2006 19:47

Fab! Are these isofix? Or do you not get that with the group 2-3 seats. Haven't done my research on this yet. Ta.

tassis · 24/05/2006 19:55

they're not isofix, ballbuggiedout, but they're one of the best in the which report.

there is at least one isofix one in this stage, but it's a lot more expensive

this is the one we were planning to buy. you can quite often get it in halford and the like for around £40, but this is a HUGE bargain.

sadly I've just phoned no less than 4 tesco extras and one of them stock it. bother.

NannyL · 24/05/2006 20:10

I got mine from Tesco Extra in Chichester, West Sussex yesturday.

they definitley had more on display

(sorry to hear other tescos arnt doing it.... naturally i thoight it was a "tesco" thing)

OP posts:
jstbcs · 24/05/2006 20:42

no tesco near me, but Halfords are doign it for £39 and they will fit it as well!

NannyL · 24/05/2006 20:52

the britax highliner doesnt exactly require much 'fitting'! Wink

you put it on the seat, and strap the child in making sure the shoulder bit is in 'its' place!

Xena - congratulations - sorry to hear you had a bad time though. All's well that ends well though!!

Catch up with you and your sister maybe at one of the Greenwich meetups - can't make the one next week as I'll be on holiday but Jenweber630 and Beachyhead are going I think - check out the thread on meetups if you're up to it.

See you.

mysonsmummy · 27/05/2006 10:42

off to sunbury cross to have a look - wish me luck!
