Best 4 seater convertible?

My lovely Saab is getting a bit elderly and as Saab have gone bust I dare not buy another one.
Budget is up to around £9k
Petrol, ideally manual, back seat needs to hold teenagers and boot hold their tat
and its got to look professional enough for work ....

which convertible do you drive? Should I get one like it?

either bmw 3 series, or audi A4.

shame so many Audis are driven by dorks ....

my other options are
VW Eos
Merc CLK
BMW 1 series (but I think they are all too young and exp.)

The 1 series boot is too small. At least I was projecting wildly and thought you meant 3 lots of school and sports kit for school run.

Now the merc is def an old mans car unless it's an slk which doesn't fit your brief at all!

Honestly, the 3 series are naice. Four good seats, boot space, plenty of tech for driver. Comfy on long distance. Fuel economy not too bad. Not good in snow though as rear wheel drive.

I don't drive either of those, my DH has had both, mine is an impractical 2 seater convertible, but beautiful, I've been sort of looking cos of sharing school run.

my other car is a saab sportwagon so that does the heavy lifting
friends have had the CLK : its ok other than in black or grey
saw a cute E class t'other day

thing is it has to do work and play so I have to look professional but not flash
now to find a beemer in a good colour!
