Maclaren MAC 3 or Mamas and Papas Sport 03???

I need to buy a three wheeler jogger - I have seen both of these but can't decide. Does anyone have either of these and would they recommend one? I've looked for reviews on the Net but not much out there. Also, do ordinary pumps work for the tyres on three wheelers?

Yes ordinary pumps work but you have to have the right adaptor bit, but hey are only a few quid from your local bike shop. I would be surprised if each of those prams didn't come with their own pump tbh.

The maclaren Mac3 is only suitable from 3+ months due to the recline, you can buy the carrycot but it is an additional cost of around £100+. There is also no shopping basket with the maclaren. The hood looks a bit small too. From mothercare is costs £200 and the luxury footmuff and raincover are included in the price. Weight of 8.2kg

The M&P looks much cosier for a newborn and has a bigger hood which would provide better protection. I think it also comes with a shopping basket. The seat unit looks a bit roomier and better padded than that on the maclaren. It is more expensive and only comes with a zip on style footmuff but no raincover, m&p raincovers are expensive to buy (around £40 probably). It also looks a lot heavier than the maclaren, in fact it is a HUGE 5.4kg heavier than the maclaren weighing in at 13.6kg !!!

Both have a fixed front wheel which is great for rough terrain but not ideal in the town centre.

I have a mothercare 3 wheeler, I did fancy the mac3 but decided that it just didn't look padded or cosy enough for our DD at the time. The M&P was also a bit expensive and we felt you were just paying for the badge and not the features (no raincover, fixed wheel, zip on footmuff rather than full cosytoes).

Hi Payney

Just to let you know that I seen the mamas and papas 3 wheeler in my local makro a couple of weeks ago for £99! not sure if they would still have to offer on but worth a try if you know anyone with a makro card.
