Recently realised that (in elderly MIL's house) there would be no way to escape from upstairs bedrooms if the staircase (heaven forbid) was on fire; so started to think about fire escape ladders. There seems to be a bewilderingly wide range of types and prices on the market, so I was wondering if anyone has any direct experience of these? and could maybe recommend (or otherwise) any particular brands, to save me possibly making an expensive mistake...Thanks.
