taking ds swimming at 10 weeks, to centerparcsso it'll be warm ish but still think wetsuit is a good idea as our local pool is freezing!!

Are they worth it?

Where do I buy them - Mothercare only do ages 1 and up and he will be 10 weeks so guess I need a 0-6 month size.

Centerparcs water is very warm. Especially inside the tropical dome thingy. I'd be really surprised if you needed one at all. We've been for years and my boys never got chilled when they were little. I'd probably recommend a soft towelling wrap for inbetween dips though.

Thinking back, I used to see a lot of little babies with just a towel to lie on asleep in the playpens they have scattered about the swimming area. Sweet.

My DS used to use one. He went to lessons from 12wks old and although the pool was extra warm (hydrotherapy pool in special needs school) he felt the cold after 15 mins or so. We bought it through the teacher but you can buy them from www.splashabout.net.

It's basically like a little neoprene lifevest looking thing that wraps around and velcro fastens. I think it was age 1 (I can dig it out and double check if you like) which baffled me as he was out of it by 5 months. I think it was about £20. Was worth it that he was warm and comfy in the water.

I have, I bought it from a surfing shop - it is great for the seaside
I bought age 2 and I found it really useful

Just checked out their website and it's called a babywrap. Ours must have been 0-6 months by their new sizing guide.

jojo maman bebe do baby wet suits - all three of mine get really cold and teeth chatter so all have worn wetsuits.

Me also a fan of Splashabout, got the shorts and have been great, saves loads too as don't need swim nappies.
