I am having huge problems with my skin of late and just wondered if there was such a thing as an independent consultant. As obviously when you go to stand etc they push there own products even though they may not be the best ones to try. I have quite oily skin and seem to have more spots now (at 35) than I did as a teenager.

If its really bad you could go to your Gp and ask to be referred to a dermatologist.
Its trial and error as to what products suit your skin. You could get in touch with some of the big name brands and ask for samples.Do it via email if you cant face the girls on the countersWink

I would go for a facial with someone who uses a reputable system such as Clarins or Decleor. Even if you don't want to buy and use their products, the therapist will be able to give you a good overview of what type of skin you have and what might help.

Do you have a college nearby ? you could go into the beauty dept and ask there, they would also do very cheap facials etc too and let you know whats best for your skin.I was a bit like you too but my sister just finished her course and helped me out with my skin and gave me a skincare regime to follwo!!
