I am after a toy farm for DD who will be 4 soon. I want a wooden one ideally with all the animals and bits and bobs. Would be grateful for any ideas ?

I got one in Hamleys - had farm buildings etc. but you had to buy the animals separately. Look on Hamleys website.

Thought I saw a wooden one in ELC the other day. We got a farm for DD a few years ago from Toys R us but it wasn't wooden. The animals in it have proven to be the best present ever and where ever we go they come too in her rucksack!

I love the ELC wooden barn - I want one! You can buy all the wooden animals separately too which makes it good for relatives to buy bits for.

we had a fisher price one - too babyish for a 4 year old

The ELC one looks good. I also saw a smallish wooden toy farm (farm building , fencing and a few animals) reduced to £6.25 in Boots - you could chuck that in with the ELC one at that price! Think the ELC one is £30. They do separate realistic animals as well.

Oh and Playmobil do a fantastic one too but, as with all Playmobil, you may need a second mortgage.

Have look here and search on farm. Plan toys do some nice if pricey wooden buildings plus Britains (which I collected from around that age) do a base and loads of tractors etc
